Law Enforcement Guidelines
In brief. These guidelines explain how Wouch responds to requests for user information from law enforcement and other authorities. Wouch is operated by Wouch Labs Private Limited, incorporated in India. We take user privacy seriously and disclose data only where we are legally required or permitted to do so.
Legal process we require
We require valid legal process appropriate to the requesting authority's jurisdiction. Requests should be made in writing, on official letterhead, from an authorised official, and should identify the specific data sought, the user or account it relates to, and the legal basis for the request. We review every request for legal validity and scope, and we may object to or narrow requests that are overbroad or improper.
Emergency requests
Where there is a genuine emergency involving an imminent risk of death or serious physical harm, authorities may submit an emergency request. We will review it promptly and may disclose information where we believe in good faith that doing so is necessary to prevent the harm and is permitted by law.
What data we may hold
By design, Wouch collects and retains limited personal data, and much of what we hold relating to a person's responses is sensitive and subject to strict access controls. We will disclose only the data we are lawfully required or permitted to disclose in response to valid process, and nothing more.
Notice to users
Our policy is to notify users of requests for their data before disclosure, so that they may seek to protect their rights, unless we are legally prohibited from doing so or there is an emergency or child-safety risk.
Data preservation
We will honour valid preservation requests by preserving relevant records for the period required by law while the requesting authority obtains the appropriate legal process.
How to submit a request
Send requests to connect@wouch.app. Include the authority, the authorised official's contact details, the legal basis, and the specific data sought. We log every request and our response.
